Sorry we haven’t posted anything in awhile. With COVID, opportunities to visit places are slim however we have been travelling and have done some special things!
Tori’s wedding!
As you can imagine, this was a major challenge to pull off in the middle of a pandemic. Patti and I were determined to ensure that Tori had her special day no matter what. Since the wedding was in Grand Rapids, Tori obtained a wedding planner from the area – best decision ever and worth every penny! Their special day was amazing start to finish, and she looked spectacular!
The wedding ceremony and reception were held at Briar Barns in Grand Rapids, MI. She and Chris picked November 7th as their wedding date. Although it was November, the temperature was 72 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. It was a perfect day! Since the barn was considered an “outdoor” facility, very little COVID restrictions were in play. But we did our best to observe normal precautions. We were so blessed that a good number of friends and family were there. Most were from Illinois and Indiana but we had some family from Tennessee as well, and a virtual toast from the Best Man who was unable to travel from Uruguay. The ceremony was perfect in every way and the reception was amazing. It could not have been any better. I had very little say in the planning (except the beer selection!) so I just soaked it all in as the day unfolded. As a father, it was one of the best days in my life. I know Patti feels the same!
Our Winter Home!
Last year Patti and I decided to buy an RV lot at Bella Terra RV Resort near Gulf Shores, AL. We were able to design the lot the way we wanted so we put in a huge firepit and a short brick border wall on the front and halfway up the side of the lot.
It is pretty big and we have 15 feet more to the side (bottom of picture) all the way to the curb. We will probably landscape that area and put in a small patio but that is for next year. So far we have had pretty good weather over the winter months and the area is awesome with no COVID lockdowns! Just wear a mask and stay 6 feet away from others. Simple!
Pensacola… Again….
We did spend 3 weeks in our favorite place, Pensacola! The RV resort we stay at has their own beach so it is awesome. And of course, the nearby restaurants are amazing…
Oh yeah, I got a drone. It is awesome!
If you haven’t been to St. Augustine, FL then you HAVE to go. I highly recommend it. The Atlantic is beautiful! I’m jealous that you get to spend time in Florida. Y’all are living the life!
Thanks Susan!
Oh, I forgot to tell you the wedding pictures are great. She is so pretty! Nice job on the RV site.
Greatly appreciated! It is hard to keep up with updating the site.
