Pensacola Beach, FL

All we can say is Pensacola Beach was awesome! We stayed at the Pensacola Beach RV Resort and yes, it is right on the beach! We had a great view of the gulf from the USS Dutch Star! We also made some great friends and hope to stay in touch! It’s amazing how friendly people are in RV parks. We met Bob and Brenda, Art and Mel and had a great time discussing the industry and sharing meals and recipes. We were also in walking distance from great restaurants and loved riding the motorcycle on the Gulf Breeze Parkway.

The Beach!

We spent a lot of time on the beach. Nuff said!

Sailing Trip

We went on a 2 hour sunset sail with Condor Sailing Adventures and had a terrific time! A very unique experience riding on a Condor 40 trimaran. The sailboat was extremely stable and we just sat back and enjoyed the ride. There was just enough wind to keep us moving but not so much to rock the boat. We sailed out of the harbor and went up and down the coast until the sunset.

After the sunset, we had a moon rise!

All in all it was a great evening and awesome experience.

National Naval Aviation Museum

This museum was incredible! So much to see, we went back on 3 separate occasions. The National Naval Aviation Museum is housed in 2 large buildings on NAS Pensacola (home of the Blue Angels)! It is free to get in and houses some of the most historic planes and artifacts concerning naval aviation:

  • The first flying boat (NC-4) to cross the Atlantic.
  • Special section concerning the Apollo space program.
  • Multiple aircraft exhibits including the Blue Angels!
  • Huge IMAX theater featuring many films about aviation and WWII
  • The history of aircraft carriers!
  • Exhibits of how it was to live in the 1940’s during rationing.
  • There were 2 planes that were brought up from Lake Michigan and restored.

There were many more exhibits that were fascinating and still more to see!

Pensacola was great fun and created a lot of memories.

Off to Tallahassee!
