San Antonio

We stopped in San Antonio for a few days to take in the sights and visit with some friends we met in our travels.

Dave and Noel Newhouse live in San Antonio however we met in Sycamore IL when we were in town to see family and friends. They have family in the area and stay in their awesome 5th wheel. Dave is always performing upgrades to the 5th wheel and I actually added a 4G LTE Hotspot based on his suggestion. It works great and I appreciated the advice.

They have been RVing for sometime and love to see the country. Although COVID has kept them in San Antonio, they are itching to get back to Sycamore and see their grandkids! They are not full-timers but that could change. We had dinner with them at a great Tex-Mex restaurant called Lupe Tortilla. They suggested the steak fajitas which I normally don’t do, but I ordered them and they were fantastic! We had a great time visiting and can’t wait to see them in Sycamore later this year.

The Alamo and the Riverwalk

Of course we had to visit the Alamo when in town. We have been here before but it always is a great place to visit. Fortunately the Alamo was open and there were a lot of people out and about.

We then went over to the Riverwalk. All kinds of shops and restaurants along the river walkway. We found a Tex-Mex restaurant that was pretty good and outside to see the sights.

Tower of the Americas

It was our anniversary while we were in San Antonio so we had dinner at the Tower of the Americas. The tower has a great restaurant at the top and rotates to see the entire downtown. Great scenery and terrific dinner!

Witte Museum

This museum was pretty cool. Although mostly for kids, it gave a great background of the area during prehistoric ages. Some of the museum was closed due to COVID but would like to come back when fully opened.

Ultimately it was great trip in San Antonio and we enjoyed it a great deal. Will definitely come back!
