It’s a girl, corvettes and new shoes!!

Gender Reveal

As you may know, our daughter & son-in-law (Victoria & Chris Poole) are expecting. We are so excited and ready to help Chris and Tori while we, of course, spoil their baby!!! During our recent stay at Bella Terra, Patti traveled back to Wheaton for work, and I traveled in later that week – it was perfect timing for our visit as Tori & Chris had learned the baby’s gender that same week (via ultrasound which Patti, Fran and BFF Katie got to attend as well). We were so blessed to be in person for the gender reveal! Everybody thought it was going to be a boy, except me. I kind of cheated because I suspected Tori was hoping for a girl. So I nonchalantly asked her if she was excited about the prospect of having a baby. She looked at me with a big smile and said “I am sooooo excited, can’t wait!” That was all I needed to know it was a girl. Forest had the honor of popping the enormous balloon which contained the proper colored confetti…

Forest popped the balloon and yes – pink confetti!!!

Corvettes!

On our way back to Bella Terra, we stopped at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. We have several friends who have corvettes and talk about the museum so we had to stop!

Can’t come in!

So this is a long story…. They asked Patti if she likes Corvettes? Her response – “What’s a Corvette?” They wouldn’t let her in! After some explanations and uhmmm greasing some wheels….. I was able to get her in! That was close…

As you may know, this museum suffered a catastrophe some years ago. A sink hole had developed below the museum floor and eight irreplaceable cars went tumbling into the hole. All of the cars were recovered but only 2 were able to be restored.

This car was the most damaged.

New shoes!

In the RV industry when you have a motorhome like ours, tires and tire maintenance are some of the primary discussions. I have learned a lot and fortunately the maintenance routine I use for the tires (303 tire protection) works very well. The rule of thumb is to replace the tires every 7 years, no matter how much tread is left on them. After that time period, the rubber (cracking) and sidewalls have deteriorated to the point where there is a chance of a blow out on the road. Our tires will turn 7 years old in November. So I wanted to get ahead of the game and get them replaced. Fortunately I was able to find a good Michelin truck tire dealer not far from Bella Terra. Ordered the tires in October, they arrived in February and installed in April. Manufacturer date code on them is 5021 (50th week of 2021).

At the shop!
New Michelins!!!

With new shoes it is time to hit the road!

Next stop: Titusville, FL!
